How was your appointment with Dr. Chung?

Sobering but upfront and honest. He had to call me about the results from the bone marrow to see if I was a candidate. My wife and I didn’t think I was but we had to hear it from him. He tried to squeeze me in to his schedule twice but I was exhausted and called his office both times to tell them I couldn’t make it. He called me at my home at night and my wife listened as he explained the test results and was upfront and honest. Even over the phone I could tell he was very sincere and had incredible empathy. I thanked him for his honesty and his advice regarding end of life decisions I had to make to protect my wife and kids. Not great news but I appreciated it coming from someone who cares.
