How was your appointment with Dr. Basmajian?

    Jun 04, 2020
Best decision I made to choose Dr. Basmajian!! I am a 60-year-old female and have been athletic my whole life. I originally was scheduled with another excellent surgeon but learned he only performs hip replacement posteriorly. For me, a yoga instructor and fitness buff, the recovery would have been more difficult and prolonged and possibly may not have allowed me to continue teaching yoga. I changed to Dr. Basmajian because I learned he performs his replacements anteriorly so that my recovery would be shorter and less difficult. I am in my third week of recovery and free of pain, still have some muscle soreness, but hip pain is totally gone! I feel ready to go back to long walks and hikes and cross-fit, but because bone needs time to adhere to appliance, I will need to wait at least 6-8 weeks for that. I am doing some very short walks and light cycling every few days along with physical therapy 4-5 times a week and lots of rest to heal hip area. Best office staff ever!!
