How was your appointment with Dr. Pinto?

    Dec 09, 2019
I have been having shoulder pain for the past four years from playing intense overhead sports and during the first was told by my PCP that it was tendinitis. After physical therapy for this injury failed, I decided to see Dr. Pinto. It took him maybe 5 minutes to realize what was wrong and explain what glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD) is. After another round of physical therapy that failed, Dr. Pinto explained why this might be and has prescribed me to get an MRI arthrogram to determine if my labrum is torn. He is super helpful and was able to explain all of this and why it has occurred and what the next steps should be. He has been very open to hear my opinion and hasn't treated me like a child, which most of my other doctors have. I would highly recommend Dr. Pinto to anyone that is having long lasting shoulder pain. It did take over 45 minutes for him to make it to my room, but he spent an appropriate amount of time explaining everything. :)
